J O A N N A. N. Y.

I was born in Madrid, Spain on January 1981 and raised between Ibiza and Buenos Aires.
I graduated in Fashion Design at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, FADU-UBA in 2004. That same year I studied professional make up with renowned Argentinian make up artist, Malala Lagos.
In 2005 I took a Costume Design course at Saint Martin`s School of Arts & Design in London, Uk.
And in 2006 I studied FX Make up with make up artist, Alex Mathews.
I did my professional training in Opera Costume Design with Costume Designers Luciana Gutman and Louis Desiré. With whom I have been given the chance to design characters and choir costumes. I’ve been also in. charge of the different workshops at the Teatro Colón, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Teatro Cervantes, Buenos Aires Lírica. In México City I did those same tasks at The Palacio De Bellas Artes and Teatro de la Ciudad.
In 2007 I co-designed the wardrobe for “Errata” at Centro Cultural Konex, Buenos Aires, Argentina. And in 2008 I designed the wardrobe for “Historia de un soldado”, under Marcelo Lombardero´s regie for Teatro San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina..
Since 2006 I’ve been working as a wardrobe designer for tv commercials in various Argentinian and Mexican production companies.

In 2021 I co-designed my first movie, “La Caida” with renowned Mexican Costume Designer, Gilda Navarro. The next year I worked next to Costume Designer Annai Ramos on “Casando a mi ex”.

At the present I reside and work in México, D.F.
